Adrenal Fatigue + Boyfriend Jeans (???)

How’s that for a RIVETING post title. LOL.

Always a fan for a good rhyme, & honestly, it’s 1:30am & I am exhausted (which is not helping the adrenal fatigue I am about to talk about) so that’s just what came to my head in the moment.

Today I found out through a series of spit tests (not my cutest moment) given to me by my really amazing naturopath, that my adrenals are basically shot to shit. After your tests you get back a graph that shows your levels throughout the day & mine is about as ass backward as it could get.

SO- I figured I’d share because to my surprise, adrenal fatigue is SUPER common & very under diagnosed. Some of the symptoms include fatigue (obviously), difficulty getting up in the morning, inability to handle stress well, insomnia, weak immune system, etc.

If any of those symptoms ring a bell, & you have a bad sleep schedule/are overly stressed- I am like 99.9% sure that your adrenals need some TLC… & once you give them that TLC you will be blown the eff away about how much better you feel. More energized, more pep in your step, & all around more productive. A few things I am putting into effect asap to get my adrenals on track are:

1. going to bed earlier, because circadian rhythms effect adrenals & my sleeping habits are no bueno.

2. lotsa B vitamins!! B5 & B6 are your adrenals BFF, also B12 w/ Folate is a major energy booster.

3. help the adrenals recover by lowering inflammation in the body- to do this, you should cut out dairy (easy, I am not a huge fan) & start taking a daily Vitamin C + an Omega 3 supplement.

4. also I have added in Vitamin D, Zinc, Selenium, & Magnesium to my vitamin regimen. Together, they all help to get your adrenals functioning properly

5. drink more water. people with burnt out adrenals are often more dehydrated.

6. take breaks to be mindful, preferably three mindfulness breaks a day for 20 minutes. I am very excited to do this with the help of the Headspace app.

7. reduce stress. take a yoga class, take a bath, do things to help you relax & thus allow your adrenals to get back on their a game (which in turn will get you back on your a game!).

OKAY, so that’s it. Naturopaths are kind of pricey, so if you think you could have an adrenal issue… save the money & start with the above!  Just thought I could help a sister out.

Now- what does that have to do with boyfriend jeans? Well… absolutely nothing at all.

    1. Nope-just wearing a bra for the first time in ages. I naturally have big boobs (32D), but I tend to hide them because it’s not my favorite feature.
