BLOGGER PROBLEMS are real people, & the time change is a major one.

Any of my fellow bloggers with me on this one?

Natural light is a bloggers BFF, so now that the sun is basically down for the count around 4:30pm, I’ve been suffering. I prefer Fall weather over Summer heat any day of the week (loving this crispy chill in the air!!!), but I could really use those extra hours in the day in a big big way.

I am known for being a late sleeper, so this Fall back is really putting a major hitch in my giddy-up. I am actively trying to get to bed earlier & wake-up earlier, but changing sleep patterns has been hard AF.

To help adjust to this new schedule, I’ve picked up a few new healthy habits/hobbies:

◇ I’ve started going to sleep a half hour earlier each night to ease into a new sleep schedule.

◇ I’ve started boxing to hopefully help with my crazy insomnia. The fact it’s a killer workout & so incredibly fun is an added bonus!

◇ I treat myself to my fave banana bread cold brew when I wake up before 10am (don’t judge, I’m being honest here).

◇ I take a bath at 9:30 pm each night to help wind down.

◇ & the biggest of all- I’ve actually started waking up & meditating.

Let me tell you, out of all my new hobbies, MEDITATING has by far been the most difficult. My sister recommended I use an iPhone app called Headspace to guide me through meditations & hopefully help start my day on a brighter note, but it has been a real challenge for me. My brain runs in circles 100% of the day, so this will definitely be a work in progress, but I’m excited because I hear meditating is a real game changer!

Do you guys have any tips to adjusting a sleep schedule that I’m missing? If so, do tell! I need all the help I can get with this one. x, E

  1. Whoa, your hair is awesome!!! I would not be able to stop staring at it, if I were you. Your hairdresser did an incredible job!

  2. Try to get all computer/phone stuff done by 9pm, the blue light disrupts circadian rhythms. I find the Internet being an endless rabbit hole of information when trying to sleep early. I love writing with an old fashioned paper and pen. It also lets ideas flow more freely and you can edit later. I also like to read before bed.

    1. I’ve heard that! I actually got special orange glasses to help with that, but they are so uncomfortable to wear! I have got to put down the computer earlier for sure.
