Can’t Live W/O Beauty Products

cute make-up bag

+ never leave home without it… ;) +

I come from a family of lots of females. I think the ratio would be somewhere around 80/20.

& with this clan of ladies comes tons of beauty tips/tricks/advice. My mom is always leaving ripped out articles on my windshield, my sis texts me pictures of her latest & greatest beauty buys, and my cousin’s are constantly sending links my way of things to check out. Even my Dad sends me stuff every now & again (all that estrogen has rubbed off on him).

I am not saying we are experts or anything, but I must say… the ladies in my fam have awesome skin, healthy hair, and a TON of beauty secrets to keep them on their A game… all most of which I am sharing with you below. You’re welcome ;).

can't live without beauty products

+ ONE: I always make sure to have a pretty little MU bag (such as this one) filled with all the essential in my purse. You never know when you’re going to need to hide a new zit or give your lashes some extra curl.

+ TWO: Frownies were my Grandma’s no.1 beauty secret, and I swear to you she never had a wrinkle on her face. Did you know you actually make more facial expressions when sleeping than when awake? Frownies will prevent you from being able to squint that brow all night long, thus preventing wrinkles. Duh.

+ THREE: Fake eyelashes are a bitch. They are hard to get on, uncomfortable to wear, and annoying to take off. I personally am obsessed with Benefit’s “They’re Real” mascara. Few swipes of that and a good eyelash curler and people will seriously not believe you’re not wearing fakies.

+ FOUR: I have always had bad undereye circles, & it’s taken me YEARS to finally find a cover-up that works to disguise my shiners. MAC Painterly Paint Pot is actually a cream eyeshadow, but it is the best cover-up I have ever tried, and trust me- I’ve tried quite a few.

+ FIVE: My cousins were visiting not so long ago and were swearing up and down by this Aveda brush. I didn’t get what was so great about a paddle brush… until they sent me one for my bday. This brush, for whatever reason, keeps my crazy hair calm and under control all day.

+ SIX: Speaking of hair, I am obsessed with all products by “It’s a 10“, esp. the Miracle Leave In Conditioner & the Miracle Shine Spray. They seriously do work miracles.

+ SEVEN: It’s a real bummer I wasn’t born with Cara Delevingne style brows. I love thick thick thick eyebrows. It’s so chic. Anastasia’s brow powder has been my saving grace for years now. It gives me that bold look I love, without looking like I used a marker to fill in my brows.

+ EIGHT: Whenever I feel a zit coming, I sprint to my Mario Badescu Drying Lotion. One dab, one nights sleep, zit’s gone. It’s an effing magic trick. It’s a little pricey for a small jar, so I found a cheaper alternative called Bye Bye-Blemish Drying Lotion. Looks the same, and has the same great reviews. I’ll be trying it next.

+ NINE: Seche Vite is the best topcoat hands down. Dries quick, makes your nails look super shiny, and helps keep your polish from chipping. Too bad I dropped my bottle 10 minutes ago and it shattered everywhere :(. I am so sad!

+ TEN: My cheapest beauty secret (price-wise, not quality-wise) is anything by E.L.F. It’s sold at Target, and the whole line is ridiculously inexpensive. My fave product of theirs is the E.L.F. Pink Passion Blush. It’s the most perfect shade ever invented.
