On The Top Shelf | Clean Beauty

The best purchase of 2017 thus far is EASILY my new medicine cabinet. I know, so random, but I love to organize & considering I have a problem buying any/all skincare products… I was in dire need of the extra space.

Not only has it cleared up a whole bunch of under the sink clutter- but I am getting so much more use out of all my favorites because I can keep them front & center.

When I was organizing them all in my brand spanking new medicine cabinet, I was quite pleased with my collection of clean beauty products. I am not perfect when it comes to keeping ALL my skincare products completely clean… but I certainly do try pretty hard to keep it as free of nasty chemicals/parabens/etc. as I can.

I don’t have particularly sensitive skin in the sense I get irritated easily, but I do have sensitive skin when it comes to shitty products. If I start breaking out, I spend a few days hitting the reset button by using ONLY clean products & within no time my skin is incredibly happy.

Check out some of my personal fave clean beauty products below & do yourself a favor by bookmarking the EWG database website. I am always using it to check on the safety of the ingredients in whichever lotion/cream/serum I am eyeing on Amazon.

p.s. if you have a clean beauty product I need to know about, let a sister know!!!

clean skincare favorites (of the moment!)

1. Tamanu oil: pure Tamanu oil is the jam! It has helped so much with fading my dark spots & scars. I have a few oils on rotation, but this one is definitely my go to.

2. Eminence Strawberry Rhubarb Dermafoliant: it is a gentle exfoliant that I like to add to my daily cleanser & leaves my skin feeling so soft.

3. Botnia daily face cream: I have been on the hunt for a good daily face cream for the longest time & finally the search is over. It has anti-inflammatory properties & always leaves my skin looking SO GLOWY (like Kim K. glow!!!). Also- they are made to order, so if you have some particular skin care issue you can let them know & they will tailor fit it for your skin needs!

4. Urb Apothecary Cactus face polish: When Zack read his he said “OUCH- sounds painful”. I swear, it’s not. It is just what it says, a really bad ass facial polish. It sloughs off all the bad stuff, increases blood flow, & moisturizes w/ the help of jojoba oil.

5. Vitamin E overnight serum: this is typically my go-to overnight oil as it is a bit thicker than most, but it really ups the beauty sleep ante w/o causing breakouts. I always wake up looking refreshed & my skin looks like it just drank a huge cup of water. Plus, Vitamin E is known to even out skintone, which is always a win.

6. Wildcare Soft Focus face mask: I am OBSESSED w/ this mask. It contains coconut milk, iridescent pearl, &  pineapple extract to create a mask that not only smells delicious, but leaves your skin looking FLAWLESS. It is a clay mask, but the magic of it is that it is not in the least bit drying- the milk in it leaves your skin smooth & incredibly moisturized.

7. Wildcare Golden Hour oil: I mentioned in yesterday’s post my new found love for body oils & how they make my blog photos SO much better… & this golden glowing one is my go-to. It has a subtle shimmer and smells like jasmine & vanilla. I also sometimes put it on the ends of my hair when things are looking a little dry.

8. Tula Advanced Neck Cream & Exfoliating Treatment Mask: OKAY- Tula products are amazing & I am borderline obsessed. They are infused w/ probiotics & all sorts of yummy clean ingredients that are beyond effective. The Exfoliating Treatment Mask is amazing because it first moisturizes the skin & softens up any dead skin cells, & then when you wash it off you let the gentle scrubbing beads go to work at making your skin super smooth. The neck cream has also been a real skin saver. I suffer from nasty tech neck (aka neck wrinkles from looking down at your phone so much) & I have been using this religiously. The pesky neck lines/band/wrinkles are EXPONENTIALLY better since I started slathering this luxurious cream all over my neck.

9. Eminence Bright Skin Licorice Root Booster serum: I have been using this one serum for ages now. My sister actually started using it to lighten up some Melasma & when she got hooked, she told me I had to buy it, & now I am hooked. If you are looking to dramatically brighten up a dull complexion… this is the one product you needed yesterday.

10. Pangea Organics: I just got my hands on Pangea products & I am LOVING them. I start w/ their delicious Australian plum & willow cleanser which is a great everyday cleanser, then a spritz of their rosemary & sweet orange toning spray which leaves my skin feel so clean (& smells amazing), then I finish it all off w/ the geranium & pomegranate antioxidant balancing serum which is just the perfect amount of oil without getting too greasy.

11. Roses N Rosé Rosewater Facial Mist: always need a rose spritz for when I wake up, when I go to sleep, when I put on makeup, when I am done with makeup… basically, I always need a rose spritz at all times of the day & this one is my go to (it’s infused with coconut oil, Vitamin E, & geranium so it’s extra soothing!!).
