This & That | Coffee Shop Corners

[dropcap]S[/dropcap]O it’s officially freezing AF in San Diego & we pretty much spent the weekend either bundled up on the couch binge watching Making a Murderer (will get to that in a second) OR hitting up every coffee shop in our hood.

I am reallllly into coffee shops lately & finding new ones to try out. We live in a really artsy part of San Diego, so I’ve kind of made it my goal lately to find all of the small/hidden gem coffee shop corners throughout our area. I decided it’d be fun to share my faves with you & then… hopefully (if you live in SD) you’ll tell me of some new ones to try out that you like. Deal? K!

in no particular order…

1. Holsem: A marble wonderland!!! Literally, the whole place is covered in gorgeous marble. I probably go here the most because it’s closest to me & the banana bread cold brew is my favorite thing ever. I also love the ‘la vie en rose’ drink that is sprinkled w/ dried rose petals. As for food, the coconut chia parfait is on point.

2. Kettle & Stone: A new favorite, Kettle & Stone is pretty much the quaintest coffee shop I’ve ever been to. It is part coffee shop & part boutique where you will find crystals, coffee table books (the whole Kinfolk collection), & even homemade truffled dog treats (yes, Bitzy got some!). The tables/chairs are all covered in cozy fur blankets & it’s on the most charming little street. Zack & I both got the spiced vanilla bean latte & it was delish.

3. Influx Cafe: This is Zack’s personal favorite & he loves/highly recommends the Vietnamese coffee. I personally get the dirty chai with almond flavoring. They also have insane salads & a really great breakfast menu!

4. Young Hickory: Okay, so this place is the coolest because they serve amazing coffee & BEER. Yes, beer. Cool, right? It’s the most hipster coffee spot I’ve ever been to, & totally worth a visit. I got the dirty chai, my go-to hot beverage, & it was seriously the best one I’ve ever had! It’s a fun place to work as well.

5. Coffee & Tea Collective: C&T collective is a minimalistic coffee lovers dream. The decor is simple & beautiful and the coffee is so so so good. Also, the avocado toast is a must!

OKAY, so after all of that coffee, Zack & I were fully wired to stay up all night and binge watch Netflix’s new true crime docu-series, Making a Murderer. I have to tell you guys, it was mind blowing & totally maddening. You have got to watch it & then I’d love to hear your thoughts!! If you’ve already seen it, what do you think?! Do tell. x, E

  1. Oh my gosh making a murderer was insane!! My mom and I stayed up until 2am watching episodes and then finished the rest the next day, it was so so soooo good! (And also very frustrating)
