DIY Beauty | Valentine’s Day Rose Body Scrub

fashionlush, valentine's day diy, rose sugar scrub

Valentine’s Day is almost here, which means roses are in your most likely in your near future. If you don’t have a beau who is expected to deliver a dozen long stems to your doorstep, treat yourself to a bouquet.

Bonus points: have them delivered to your office (if Cher from Clueless did it, so can you), it’s bound to make your co-workers super envious of your sexy “secret” admirer.

Regardless of who sent them, within a short time those pretty roses are going to start to wilt. Instead of tossing them, I highly suggest you give this super easy beauty DIY a go. It’s the perfect way to recycle your roses & get every little bit of wonderfulness out of them.

I’ve been on a major scrub kick lately, but so far this one is my fave. It left my skin feeling as soft as a babies booty & smells so lovely (like roses, derr.). Plus, scrubbing is always great for unwanted cellulite!

Be greedy & keep it for yourself or make it pre-Vday & gift to the lady in your life who is in need of some pampering. Hint hint: Mom’s love scrubs!

DIY Rose Sugar Scrub

» 1 1/2 cup white sugar

» 2 roses or approximately 15-20 rose petals

» 1/4 cup avocado oil

» 3 tablespoons pink himalayan sea salt

» jar for storage

» printable rose labels (made by yours truley!)

How to:

1. Pull off rose petals & measure out ingredient.

2. Combine all ingredients in a blender or food processor. Blend until fully mixed together, but don’t over mix. You want it to be a scrub, so the grainier the better!

3. I used a mini mason jar I had lying around to store my scrub, which ended up being perfect for this project. Once you print out the label, you can seperate the lid of the mason jar & put the paper in between, trim away any excess paper around the edges.

    1. Yes, but roses are great because the oils from the petals make your skin super soft!
