DIY Tanning Oil (it’s moisturizing too!)

I am a total freak when it comes to my skin, I always always always wear sunscreen & try my hardest to stay out of the sun.

Due to all that carefulness, I have officially become Casper the Friendly Ghost. I do find pale skin kinda chic, to an extent (i.e. Nicole Kidman always looks so sophisticated with her powdery complexion). I have gone way past chic and straight into creepy pasty girl who people would assume is a serious recluse (semi-true). Living in San Diego, I stand out like a sore/colorless thumb.

I am not big on spray tanning since I always come out looking like a straight up Halloween pumpkin. So, I have made it my goal to get a tan in the healthiest way possible. I whipped up this au naturale DIY tanning oil right in my kitchen, & man-oh-man is it effective! I still don’t tan my face, & probably never will (bronzer is my bestie), but for my see-through white legs, this concoction has been working wonders.

I still 100% reccomend beg that you apply sunscreen before you spray on the oil– I promise, you will still get a beautiful, even, & burn-free tan!!

Enjoy & Happy Friday babes.

  1. OMG this is the coolest post ever! I have been spray tanning for years as I have had skin removed from the sun and tanning beds. I cannot wait to mix this one up! Thank you for sharing xo C

  2. How much of each part do you need? And will this still be effective without mixing lanolin in it?

    1. It will be less moisturizing without the Lanolin, but still just as effective. You need: 3 black teabags, ¼ cup lanolin, 4 tablespoons coconut oil, 4 tablespoons avocado oil.
