Play by the Rules or Break the Rules | Fall Plaids

When you think of Fall you automatically think of chunky knits, PSL’s (derrr), yummy smelling candles, cozying up on rainy days, & the most iconic of all- PLAID everything.

We all know, my style is pretty minimalistic, but when it comes to the seasons– I always have to switch things up & dress for the occasion.

If you’ve walked into any Target store as of late (just guessing, but you probably have), you will see plaid flooding the shelves/racks, & I’m digging it in a big big way. Once you enter the doors, it’s basically a Fall wonderland, even if you live in California & the weather hasn’t quite gotten the Fall memo yet.

On my last bi-weekly trip to Target, I couldn’t get over the amazingness that is the new Adam Lippes collection! The plaid styles are not only uber chic, but they had tons of black/white/grey plaids… which is right up my monochromatic alley.

I swear, shopping for all that plaid was like a secret cue to the weather gods to get cozy, because the next day it rained & I got to get all layered up in my new plaid + shearling vest w/ a turtleneck & ankle boots. I was in Fall fashion heaven!!

Yet being as we’re in sunny sunny California, the next day was basically Summer, which ended up working out perfectly cause I got to rock my new silk abstract plaid blouse w/ the most epic fringe skirt for date night!

It just goes to show, plaid is totally versatile & can be worn in a million different ways!
