Festival Fashion DIY | Chic & Functional Fanny Pack

FLXF21FannyPack9

I’ve teamed up with Forever 21 to show you guys how to easily (just 2 super simple steps!!) upcycle that old clutch collecting dust in the back of your closet into a rad fanny pack, keeping you hands free & ready to party this festival season.

The last thing you want to deal w/ when running around barefoot like a hippy at Coachella is a huge ass bag flying off your shoulder. Right? Total #festivalfail.

Check out the DIY deets below & be sure to Instagram any DIY’s you make from the blog w/ the hashtag #fashionlushDIY! I love seeing your guys’ creations :).

x, E

P.S. if you’ve got any other great festival “hacks” you’ve learned from experience, please do share!

DIY FANNY PACK

Supplies:

» clutch or small bag (white found here | black found here)
» skinny belt (turquoise one found here)
» x-acto knife

Steps:

1. If your bag has straps, snip them right off! If it’s large enough, you can also just put them inside the purse so you can still wear it as a cross body if you please.

2. Using a ruler & an x-acto knife measure & cut 1”-2” slits (depending on the width of your belt) on the backside of your bag towards the top.

3. Slide your belt through the slits! If you have two clutches, make an extra so you have options for all of your festival looks.

What I’m Wearing

patterned bell bottoms (similar here & here) | heathered black tee (my fave!) | black suede fringe vest | Saint Laurent aviators (budget version here)

  1. Yes! I thought I was the only one that rocked full Forever 21 looks to festivals. I honestly find that I can get the full detailed outfits at Forever 21 that I want, because they are trendy, affordable and you don’t mind if they get a little messy. Which festivals are you going to this year girl?

    1. Only way to go! Honestly, I have never been to a festival before & missed the mark on this year (although I still gotta blog about it for all my festival goers!). One year I will get there.
