Fashionably On Time with Armani Exchange

The other night I attended my first holiday party of the season… & I was un-fashionably late.

It was a girls only holiday/networking event at a rad new sushi restaurant in the area. I was super excited all week, so being late was NOT my intention. I made a valiant effort, but per usual it just didn’t go as planned.

I walked into a room of 20 girl-preneurs, all seated/mingling/cheers-ing sake, 40 minutes late & on my phone responding to emails (I didn’t think they’d be sitting by the door!). All eyes were on me & not in a good way. Considering I’ve never met majority of these ladies, I am certain my first impression was less than stellar. I apologized, put my tail between my legs, sat in the last open chair left, & made up some silly excuse about having to drop the dog off at the sitters.

Truth? I couldn’t pick out the right pair of boots for the life of me. Welcome to my world (#bloggerprobs?).

After this whole situation, I’ve officially decided it’s time to nip this tacky tardiness issue of mine in the bud. Starting with a new watch.

I’ve needed a stylish new timepiece for a while now & I wanted something versatile enough that I could wear it with anything. I ended up choosing this black beauty by A|X & am pretty much obsessed (if you follow me on Insta, you’ve already seen it!). It’s boyfriend style but isn’t too heavy/overwhelming on my wrist, it’s black so it will go with everything, & the rose gold details are perfection.

Now here’s my special trick: set your new watch 10-20 minutes early & make it a habit to refer to it exclusively. Stupid simple, but so effective!!

I tested it out this weekend when meeting my friends for happy hour & it worked like a charm! I was actually early, which was a real shocker to my friends. Not to mention, the new Armani Exchange watch was a real hit & paired perfectly with my go-to skinny jeans and fave new salt & pepper statement coat.

You guys got any tardy tips or tricks? LMK, I am always open to new ideas :).

  1. i HATE that this poorly-written blog post is on my feed with no way to opt out or get rid of it. i hope Bloglovin makes it possible to “X” out sponsored content – i do not enjoy blogs i did not subscribe to showing up in my news feed.

  2. I always set everything on my phone calendar with an alarm. Knowing how behind our family is, I always set the time of the event 15-30 mins ahead so I think we are always running late but we actually get there on time! Love the phone alarm.

  4. I love this outfit! It is perfect and casual! I know exactly how you feel with time! I have to set my clocks 20 minutes early. But unfortunately eventually you start working in the extra minutes and calculating how much more time you have! It’s a never ending problem! xx
