Pumped up Kicks

We all know, 2016 has been the year of the casual/athletic inspired shoe… which if you ask me, is a total win! Maybe it’s just me, but my feet are pretty freaking happy when I give my arches a break from the killer incline of a heel. Just another lovely thing that happens when you get older, your feet reallllly start to hate anything other than a flat & aren’t scared to tell ya.

SO YEA- when it comes to my footwear of choice lately, it’s all about the casual kicks. You can do like the Europeans by pairing your athletic shoe of choice w/ a fancy frock (faveeee combo!) OR do like me in this post & keep it cool & comfy. I have just about every athletic type of shoe under the sun (#hoarders), & most recently I snagged these suede black Steve Madden espadrilles slip ons w/ just a touch of glam. So good, yes?

You can find these beauties, along with a whole bunch of other great casual shoe picks in the Macy’s Steve Madden Brand Shop. I was actually beyond thrilled to see how on top of it Macy’s was with their footwear picks.

To share a few of my top faves…

1. Well duh, the ones I am rocking in this post. I am loving everything about these sweet little espadrille slides— the subtle sparkle, the black suede, & of course- that raffia flatform sole.

2. I am always down for a good high top & am loving the gold details on this edgy black pair!

3. I am hugely into CLEAN white casual shoes & these perforated slides are right up my alley. Slides are just so freaking easy to wear. You don’t have to worry about laces (ain’t nobody got time for that), & comfort is always king.

4. Rumor has it the sneaker wedge is making a comeback, so…. if you’re ready to hop back on that shoe train, this snakeskin embossed pair is pretty rad.

5. Keeping up with the sparkle theme, because I am having a major moment with all things glittery, I am feeling these sneakers. I am loving the silver pair & although the yellow laces are rad, I think I’d swap out the laces with white or black to keep it inline with my monochromatic vibe.

ALSO, the timing is pretty perfect, because the Macy’s great shoe & sandal sale is going down as we speak & there are some pretty rad shoes I want to add to my wardrobe. It’s one of those spend more/save more deals, which is always fun… just use the promo code GREAT at checkout to get some major savings. I am in a bit of a bind since I have run out of shoe space, but a sale is a sale & if you know me… I get major FOMO when it comes to sales. Poor Zack, he loses more closet space by the second. LOL.

  1. I love the flat shoe trend. Especially, being tall, I don’t always want to wear a heel. And as you said my feet aren’t mad about it.
