Binge Worthy Shows I’ve Watched in Quarantine

binge worthy shows, quarantine

I promise, I do more than watch TV in quarantine… but I do watch a lot of TV. I am a TV person, I love television. It keeps me entertained & during quarantine- it helps me escape FOR SURE.

I think I  have an eclectic taste in television- ranging from the incredibly cheesy to the super dramatic, so I am hoping this list keeps you busy & if you have any shows I am missing out on- please comment! I am always looking to add to my growing list of shows to binge on.

ALRIGHT- let’s break it down. Get ready to binge….

binge worthy shows i’ve watched in quarantine… so far

Guilty Pleasures

+ Dynasty: we are OBSESSED with Dynasty. Think soap opera (complete with face transplants & long lost siblings), but modern day. It’s a remake of a classic soap opera, so that makes sense, but it’s just SO DAMN JUICY. Sure, unbelievable af, hence why it’s a guilty pleasure. Also- the outfits are to die for. Fallon Clark is my idol & Zack is obsessed with Dynasty too. It’s iconic & so easy to binge.

+ 90 Day Fiance: my guiltiest pleasure of all time. I am not big into reality TV, which you will see from this list because there will be no member of the housewives franchise on here, but 90 Day Fiance is my guiltiest pleasure of all time. They have broken off into many different franchises (what now, happily ever after, 90 day the other way), all of which I love. If you are new to 90 day, start from the beginning & work your way through all the franchises. It will keep you busy & entertained for weeks.

+ Love is Blind: as mentioned- I don’t love reality tv. The groups of girls fighting & throwing each other into the pool- not my vibe. Meeting strangers through a pod & getting engaged before ever seeing them- that is something I can vibe with. Ridiculous, yes. Entertaining, hell yes. Love is Blind was great. Kind of reminded me of the Circle (another good Netflix binge, if you haven’t seen it) meets Married at First Site (also good, but not great).

+ Tiger King: adding this one on the list although I know you’ve seen it. If you haven’t drop what you’re doing & watch. It’s a whole f*cking rollercoaster ride that will leave your head spinning.

Drama/Crime/Suspense

+ The Good Doctor: if you liked Grey’s Anatomy- you will love the Good Doctor. Quick synopsis: autistic doctor is a genius & solves some crazy cases. Mixed in with personal struggles of having autism & working in a hospital. It’s touching, and dramatic, & I love weird medical shows.

+ 911: another kinda like Grey’s Anatomy, but with 911. I like shows where every episode is a different story line & the finale is coming up. It involves a massive train crash & I am so excited about it. Sure- it spikes my anxiety on all the disasters that could happen to me, but I love it.

+ Station 19: This is a Grey’s Anatomy spin off, so it’s fun cause it pulls in some of the characters (Miranda Bailey, mainly) & it’s good. It’s about fire fighters. Sensing a theme? I like shows like this. But moving on from this genre starting now…

+ Law & Order SVU: a classic! I am a Law & Order stan for life. Also- did we hear the rumor Stabler is coming off in a spin off? Yes- I CAN’T WAIT!!! Anyways- if you are already a Law & Order fan, you know the deal. If not, you’ve got like 18 seasons to catch up on & I am jealous.

+ Outerbanks: We are almost at the end of Outerbanks & while I resisted watching it, WE LOVE IT. Zack loves it. There is drama, suspense, mystery, love stories, and a coming of age vibe. I can’t wait to see how this one ends & hope there is a season 2!

+ The Stranger: This is a British mystery thriller that will have you on your toes. Also, I can’t say much more without spoiling it, but we finished it in a weekend.

+ Dead to Me: If we’re being honest, I need a refresher on this show & might watch the last few episodes of season 1, because I remember I loved it & season 2 just came out. It’s got humor in it, but also a drama.

+ In The Dark: to sum it up without giving anything away- a blind girl is struggling with alcoholism & her life is a total hot mess. She is friends with a young boy who, when walking her dog, she finds dead. But she is blind. She works to solve the mystery. It’s great. I love it. Can’t WAIT for season 2.

+ Little Fires Everywhere: Never thought I’d watch a show where I hated Reese Witherspoon, but it happened & I am not mad about it. I also read the book, which I love when my book imaginations come to life.

+ Unorthodox: a short, but amazing, watch. She’s a Hasidic jew who runs away from her marriage to experience a new kind of life. I wish this was longer, but loved every second of it.

Girl Power/Comedy

+ Workin’ Moms: this show is HILARIOUS, whether you are a mom or not. Season 4 just came out & it took me a whole night to binge straight through it. YOU HAVE TO WATCH. It will make you laugh till you cry. The episodes are 30 minutes long, so it’s easy to binge through quick.

+ Never Have I Ever: this just came out on Netflix & I am obsessed. Quick story line: indian girl in highschool, coming of age, wants to have sex, trying to break free from her traditional Indian family. Hilarious, so cute, funny, & just a good light hearted binge.

+ Shrill: the characters are hilarious, the story line is great, girl power moves. So many iconic moments in this show that will make you feel empowered.

+ pen15: this might be my favorite coming of age show ever. IT IS SO FUNNY & so damn relatable to being a teenage girl in the early 2000’s. A must watch. Can not wait for the next season. I cried laughing every second.

+ Dollface: okay, I feel like you have to smoke weed to watch this show, because it’s weird af… (the bus driver is actually a cat?), but I really enjoyed it. It had some great messages and moments that you will definitely appreciate.

+ Gossip Girl: this one isn’t really “girl power” vibes or humor, but it is a girly show, so it ended up in this category. I grew up reading Gossip Girl books & then becoming addicted to the show. It’s been years since I watched it, but committed to binging from season 1 again & it was so worth it. The fashion is still my fave, Blair Waldorf & Chuck forever, & it definitely kept me busy getting through all 6 seasons. Doesn’t sound like a lot, but there are a lot of episodes in a season. Was kinda weird watching Dan Humphrey after seeing YOU & there are all sorts of conspiracy theories around the two shows (i.e. YOU is what happened to Dan after leaving New York & being screwed by all the upper east siders), & I LOVE  a good conspiracy theory. Also, kinda makes sense. Hope Blake Lively pops up in the next season of YOU & they tie it all in. Long shot, but a girl can dream!

+ Schitt’s Creek: just a classic comedy the entire world must watch. It’s iconic. Hilarious. Family friendly. Fun show.

UP NEXT:

+ Hollywood: everyone & their mom is saying this show is amazing. No idea what it’s about, but once we finish Outer Banks, this is first up on our list.

+ ZeroZeroZero: a friend recently recommended this. It’s an Italian drama about cocaine smugglers. We shall see, a friend said it was amazing.

GOT ANYTHING ELSE I AM MISSING? Comment below, please, binge watching television is my favorite quarantine activity… clearly.
