Farewell Icky Hair Chalk // Hello Hydrating Hair Color Mask

dipdyed

Ever since the dip dyed colored hair trend blew up, I wanted to get in on the fun. Unfortunately, being a brunette, it really wasn’t in the cards for me. My only option was to bleach my precious tresses, which is one mistake I will never make again. I haven’t had dye touch my hair in a long time, and there is no way I am going to put nasty chemicals and ruin my hair for a trend. They come and go, healthy hair doesn’t.

Hair chalk, IMO, sucks. One hand through your hair when rocking hair chalk, and the will color will go straight from your hair and onto your hands. Maybe if you are wearing a braid or a bun it’ll work, but that’s much less fun than wearing your hair down, especially when you have colored tips. That’s kind of the whole point, right?

Moral of the story: I finally found a way to get colored tips.

Urban Outfitters Water Color Hydrating Hair Mask is the absolute best! It’s easy to use, it’s doubles as a super hydrating hair mask, it smells delicious, and it gave me pretty good color for being a brunette. Not to mention it washes out in 5 shampoos, which is great because I get over things quick.

Once I can get over my extreme indecisiveness and pick a color, I will definitely be using it again.

  1. That’s nice! I saw a lot of comments that say it doesn’t work on darker hair. My natural hair colour is nearly black, but I did dye it lighter. Unfortunately I don’t think I can get it in where I live. :(

    1. ohhh no! Where do you live? Yea it definitely isn’t VIBRANT, but it did show up :) thanks for reading the blog. xx

  2. Does the colour come out completely after the few washes or does it leave a colour residue so to speak?

    1. for me it came out in a few washes, and for my roommate with bright blonde hair it took about a week.

      1. Thanks!! <3 I think thats better in my case because my dad's not so keen on my doing a dipdye but my mom believes in self expression so thanks <3
