Fashionlush Book Club: Page-Turners For the Gone Girl Obsessed

I’ve definitely got a type when it comes to my books.

I am not a self help kind of girl, the classics bore me (sorry!!), I can’t get into fantasy books (i.e. Lord of the Ring), & dystopia type novels are a hard no. I am picky about what I read, & I blame Gone Girl.

That book set the bar way too high… but thanks to Instagram & me always asking my audience what I should reach next, I have read some books on the same page turning level of Gone Girl & even one that I think was even better than GG…

The Fashionlush Book Club | Gone Girl Inspired Page Turners

1. The Kind Worth Killing by Peter Swanson

I JUST finished this one today, in a whopping 3 days!! I literally spent all weekend reading because I was hooked from page 1. It’s gots twists, turns, drama, & some real shockers. The end left me a little hanging, but I wouldn’t be mad at a follow up.

2. The Last Mrs. Parrish by Liv Constantine

THIS ONE IS THE ONE that I personally think was as good as, if not better, than Gone Girl. This was the book I got for our Europe trip & I was walking the streets of Rome w/ my nose in this book (Zack leading me so I didn’t get ran over by a Vespa- lol!). I am HOPING & praying someone makes a movie out of this book. ALSO- when I was done reading I passed it on to my Mom & she stayed up ALL NIGHT and read the entire thing. It’s that good!

3. Behind Closed Doors by B. A. Paris

I have never read a booked that actually scared the shit out of me, until I read this one. It is seriously scary, but in a twisted/page turning kind of way.

4. The Luckiest Girl Alive by Jessica Knoll

this one hit close to home & is very true the times, but you don’t really find out the “twist” till the end, which for me- I love. IT’S SUSPENSEFUL AF & has been described as a “Gone Girl meets Sex & The City” which is spot on!

5. The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins

this one was book of the year, a NY Time best seller, & was made into a movie… but as always- the movie was not half as good as the book. It’s a seriously addicting book that I think I finished in two days & my jaw was to the floor.

6. Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn

Obviously, after Gone Girl, I read every one of Gillian Flynn’s book- but this one was my fave (next to GG, obviously!). They came out with a show about this book, & TBH- the show was boring in comparison to the book. You should read it, whether you’ve seen the show or not!

NEXT UP: The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware

this one came highly recommended, can’t wait for it to come in the mail so I can start binge reading (away better than binge watching- am I right?!).
