Eeek. You guys, today I woke up sick :(.

I hate hate hate being sick, so immediately I went into power wellness mode…

Breakfast: hot water/lemon/cayenne, grapefruit & yogurt, shot of ACV, a handful of vitamins.

Lunch: Local Juice Co. “Defend” wellness drink, a killer combo of: ginger, orange, cayenne, oregano oil, silver biotics. It’s a reallll zinger.

Dinner: bone broth with chili flakes, onions, tomatoes, baby carrots, & garlic. More vitamins.

Nightcap: Calms Forte, to ensure a good night sleep.

We will see how I feel tomorrow, but I’m really hoping my day of playing hooky kicks this thing in the bud. If you guys have any secret Grandma tricks (ya know, like some old age family remedies) please do tell! I’m always down for weird home remedies.

In other news, anyone watching/watched the Bachelor reunion show tonight? Any votes on who the next Bachelorette will be? Fingers crossed for my fave lil’ love child, Britt!

x, E

  1. Oooh can you explain how you cook up your bone broth concoction? I’ve been trying to think of ways to eat/drink it besides straight!

    1. Yes!! I like to add baby carrots, onions, tomatoes, chili flakes, & garlic!!! So yum :) x, E

  2. Cayenne pepper and ginger always helps kicking a cold. My mom till this day cooks me porridge with ginger and a little bit of soy sauce. Hope you feel better!

  3. So sorry you are sick! Such a bummer. An old Chinese recipe for the cold is homemade ginger, scallion and cinnamon stick tea. From what I’ve read ginger, cinnamon and scallions are all warming energies and basically knock that cold right out of you!

What I do is get a thing of ginger from whole foods wash it and boil it with like 4-5 cups of water for 1/2 and hr and then add 2 whole cinnamon sticks and diced scallions for an additional 15 min. When that is done pour it in a cup (just make sure to remove the cinnamon sticks and the ginger you can keep the scallions) and drink up.

This tea has saved me from the wretched “hate my life” cold many a time. Give it a try girl it might do you good :)

    1. Oh my goodness! I love love love this. Sounds amazing, thank you so much for the recipe!! I literally have all of this in my house right now, off to make it <3

    1. It’s such good juice! Had another one today & am feeling so much better (the oil of oregano!!)
